Expansie in Frankrijk is nu de prioriteit.<\/span><span lang=\"NL-BE\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"NL-BE\">Dertigste verjaardag<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span lang=\"NL-BE\">Het Belgische franchisenetwerk Tom&amp;Co is tegenwoordig in handen van Thierry le Grelle en Lionel Descl\u00e9e, die twee jaar geleden gezelschap kregen van Philippe Dechamps. Ze namen de franchiseformule in 2016 over van\u00a0<strong>Delhaize<\/strong>, voor wie de keten geen prioriteit meer was. De jaren nadien werden gekenmerkt door\u00a0veel werk en verliescijfers. Een grondige opfrisbeurt van de bestaande winkels, het herstarten van de expansie in Frankrijk, een grote inhaalbeweging op e-commerce&#8230; In een gesprek met De Tijd erkent Le Grelle dat er een\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tijd.be\/ondernemen\/retail\/thuiswerkende-belgen-kopen-meer-dierenvoeding\/10295439.html?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.tijd.be\/ondernemen\/retail\/thuiswerkende-belgen-kopen-meer-dierenvoeding\/10295439.html?&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1618038697576000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGUEGD45Hll2ceEmmQ-VbJQd9iSsg\"><span lang=\"NL-BE\">brede kloof gaapte tussen het potentieel<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"NL-BE\">\u00a0dat hij zag, en het omzetten in de praktijk.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"NL-BE\">Maar dat blijkt nu allemaal te lonen: de omzet klokte in 2020 af op een groei van 15% tot 241 miljoen euro. Omdat mensen vorig jaar meer thuis waren en werkten, schonken ze meer aandacht aan hun huisdieren. Heel wat landgenoten haalden ook een eerste beestje in huis. Veel cijfers lost Tom&amp;Co, dat dit jaar zijn 30ste verjaardag viert, evenwel niet: hoeveel de winst vorig jaar bedroeg, wordt niet bekendgemaakt.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"NL-BE\">Op naar 250 winkels<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span lang=\"NL-BE\">De keten telt intussen 130 winkels in Belgi\u00eb, Luxemburg en Frankrijk, grotendeels in franchise. Maar de ambities zijn hooggespannen. De bedoeling is om dat aantal bijna te verdubbelen tot 250 winkels.\u00a0\u201cOnze doelstelling is om dit jaar vijf winkels te openen en op termijn 250 franchisewinkels te hebben. Wij streven ernaar de Europese markleider te worden in de sector van dierenspeciaalzaken&#8221;, zegt topman le Grelle in een persbericht. De focus voor die expansie ligt op Frankrijk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"NL-BE\">Online is Tom&amp;Co tijdens het coronajaar ook eindelijk &#8220;onder de mensen&#8221; geraakt. De franchiseketen werkte een stevige achterstand weg, en biedt nu zowel een click&amp;collect-dienst aan met afhaling binnen de 24 uur, en een thuislevering binnen de 48 uur. De Grelle erkent dat het zoeken is naar een evenwicht met de franchisenemers, aangezien de onlinebestellingen vanuit het centrale magazijn worden gedaan. &#8220;We bekijken nog of en hoe we de franchisenemers kunnen vergoeden&#8221;, klinkt het.
