De concurrentiewaakhond stelt geen enkele voorwaarde aan de acquisitie, dus er hoeven nergens winkels te sluiten of afgestoten te worden. Nergens brengt de samensmelting de vrije concurrentie in de retailsector in gevaar, meent de autoriteit.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Voor Intermarch\u00e9 betekent de goedkeuring een belangrijke mijlpaal. Op 3\u00a0januari 2023 zal de Franse supermarktgroep de overname kunnen afronden en zo een nieuwe \u201cbelangrijke retailspeler in Belgi\u00eb\u201d cre\u00ebren. De 89\u00a0supermarkten van Mestdagh, die tot nu toe als Carrefour-franchisewinkels opereerden, worden dan vestigingen van Intermarch\u00e9. Zelf had Intermarch\u00e9 al 77\u00a0winkels in Belgi\u00eb, dus komt het totaal op 166\u00a0vestigingen. Het overgangsproces is al in gang gezet: alle medewerkers worden al opgeleid in de systemen van Intermarch\u00e9.
